The easiest school orders are the ones where sizing and artwork are organised before everyone starts changing their mind.

Start with the group

Write down what the shirt is for, the approximate number of students, the age group, the date needed, whether names are personalised and whether the school logo is being used.

If you’re using official school branding, make sure you have the appropriate permission to reproduce it.

Understand the stocked sizing

Print & Wear’s standard stocked apparel uses adult sizing. For younger pupils, send ages or measurements and ask for guidance before ordering.

Do not assume an adult Small is automatically suitable for a young child. For a large group, a sample can be useful before the final run.

Collect actual sizes

For a class or club, a simple sheet can prevent most sizing confusion. Columns can include name, size, garment colour, personalisation and paid/confirmed.

Do not rely on memory or WhatsApp messages spread across multiple chats.

Check every name twice

Personalised class shirts create one major source of error: spelling.

Before approving the proof, check every first name, nickname, class year, teacher name and number. If the supplied spelling is approved in the proof, changing it after production may require a new item.

Keep the design readable

A school design can contain the class name, year, student names, school logo, slogan and event title. That can become crowded quickly.

Decide what needs to be seen first. Not everything needs to be the largest element.

Standard production takes 3–5 working days from proof approval. Delivery time is additional and depends on location.

Fundraiser? Start with demand, not optimism

If the school is selling merchandise rather than distributing it to a fixed group, avoid assuming every student wants one.

Pre-orders or a smaller first batch can help identify which sizes and designs people actually want. Reorder when practical rather than creating unnecessary unsold stock.

Make the proof the final checkpoint

Before approval, verify the artwork, spelling, year, names, sizes, garment, colours and placement. Then let production start.
